Celebrating World Intellectual Property Day with a Mentoring and Article Writing Session

Objective

• To provide students with valuable insights, information, and guidance on various aspects of intellectual property, including patents, trademarks, copyrights.
• To enhance student’s skills in article writing related to intellectual property topics, fostering their ability to articulate ideas effectively and communicate complex concepts clearly.
• To offer mentorship from experienced professionals in the field of intellectual property, providing guidance, advice, and support to participants in this domain.

Description

Institute of Professional Excellence and Management, Ghaziabad NAAC ‘A’ Grade Accredited through its Institutional Innovation Council (IIC), organized World Intellectual Property Right Day with Mentoring cum Article Writing session on IPR. Dr. Taru Maheshwari (Assistant Professor), Management Dept. and Dr. Divya Rana (Associate Professors), Management Dept., respectively, kick started the event with an engaging mentoring session on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). They illuminated the audience about the significance of IPR, its benefits, and potential drawbacks, setting a solid foundation for the subsequent activities. Following the insightful mentoring session, students from various departments from BBA, BCA, B.COM(H) participated in the activity.  Their diverse backgrounds brought unique perspectives to the table, enriching the discussions, and fostering a dynamic learning environment. The event culminated in the selection of three outstanding papers by esteemed judges from different departments, namely Dr. Taru Maheshwari, Dr. Divya Rana, from Management Dept. Ms. Parul Tyagi from the Centre for Teacher Education Dept., and Mr. Naveen Kumar from the Computer Applications department. The enthusiasm and enjoyment displayed by the students throughout the event underscored their keen interest in exploring and understanding the intricacies of intellectual property rights. This event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Preeti Varshney, the coordinator of the event. She emphasized the importance of fostering a culture of innovation and intellectual property awareness within the academic community. Dr. Varshney’s closing remarks encapsulated the spirit of collaboration, learning, and enthusiasm that characterized the event, leaving participants inspired and motivated to continue their journey of exploration and innovation.
