Think, Plan & Teach: A Lesson Planning Competition

Objective

  • To enhance lesson planning skills by encouraging structured and innovative teaching methods among B.Ed. students.
  • To promote creativity in classroom teaching through the design of engaging and student-centered activities.
  • To develop effective communication and presentation abilities essential for future educators.
  • To encourage the use of innovative teaching aids and technology in lesson delivery.
  • To foster critical thinking and student engagement strategies for interactive and impactful learning experiences.

Description

The Centre for Teacher Education at the Institute of Professional Excellence and Management (IPEM) successfully organized the event “Think, Plan & Teach – A Lesson Planning Competition” in offline mode.

The event commenced with a warm Welcome Address delivered by Dr. Geeti Sharma, Director, IPEM, followed by the Inaugural Address by Dr. Nishi Sharma, Principal, IPEM.

A total of 32 students were initially shortlisted for the competition covering the following disciplines:

  • Pedagogy of Hindi
  • Pedagogy of English
  • Pedagogy of Physical Science
  • Pedagogy of Mathematics
  • Pedagogy of Biological Science
  • Pedagogy of Social Studies
  • Pedagogy of Commerce

These participants presented their carefully designed lesson plans, showcasing creativity, planning skills, and innovative teaching strategies.

The competition was evaluated by a panel of esteemed external judges:

  1. Ms. Shakti Singh, Coordinator, Dolphin Public School, Chipiyana, GB Nagar
  2. Mr. Shubham Dubey, Principal, Dundahera Public School, Ghaziabad
  3. Ms. Shilpi, Assistant Teacher, PM Shri UPS, Bulandshahr

The judges addressed the pupil-teachers at the conclusion of the event, offering valuable observations, constructive feedback, and motivating insights to help them enhance their lesson planning and teaching methodologies.
