Centre for Teacher Education of IPEM celebrated International Yoga Day on 21st June 2024 by organizing a Yoga Session for the Faculty members, students, GMA members and nearby people of Industrial area. Yoga, which originated in ancient India, is now practiced worldwide especially as International Yoga Day, celebrated annually on June 21st. The Yoga Instructor was Ms. Yogini Dhani, Founder of Yogadhani108 Centre. The Yoga session started with systematic practice of the different “ASANAS” of standing, sitting and lying position under the instructions and supervision of Yoga Instructor. She also demonstrated some yoga practices to get relief from Back Pain, Stress and Blood Pressure. During the yoga session the yoga Instructor explained the meaning and usefulness of Yoga for daily life. Yoga is useful to improve flexibility, strength, balance, and mental clarity, as well as reduce stress and anxiety. She also focused that an individual should pay attention on his/her internal body especially. She provided the training regarding the correct way of Breathing and relaxing the body to gain energy. The Yoga session ended with the practice of Shavasana. The participants appreciated the session wholeheartedly and thanked to instructor and her team-members for conducting the wonderful yoga session. They also discussed their individual health issues with the instructor and asked specific yoga asana as a remedy.
Overall, this session fulfilled the aim of International Yoga Day of inspiring individuals to take up yoga, appreciating its holistic benefits, and contributing to their personal well-being and the well-being of society as a whole.
