Industrial Visit 23rd February 2019

An Industrial Visit to Orient Craft, Bhiwari was organized for MBA & BBA students on 23rd February. Established over 40 years ago, Orient Craft is today India’s #1 garment design house, backed by a large world-class manufacturing infrastructure.

Currently, the annual turnover of OC is 250 million USD (the first cost, resulting in over a billion dollars of retail products and growing).

The purpose of the visit was to acquaint the students with the various important segments of Industrial undertaking. The main reason behind this- it lets the student know things practically through interaction, working methods and employment practices.

Moreover, it gives exposure from an academic point of view. The main aim of industrial visit is to provide exposure to students about the practical working environment. They also provide students with a good opportunity to gain full awareness of industrial practices.

Mr Sudhir Nair (HR Executive) explained the working of the unit and gave an insightful presentation related to the working of the unit and its production. He also described the functions, benefits of the products and the company’s presence worldwide.

Students were taken around the manufacturing unit and were explained about the production and packaging process.

Students also interacted with the staff of Orient Fabric and were shown videos and presentation of its products. The process in the making is mostly labour intensive and is internationally designed keeping in mind the hygiene standards.

Students enjoyed their bus ride and asked numerous questions.

Overall, the activity was highly interactive and a learning visit for the students on the concepts related to production and operations within a manufacturing unit.
