The objective of the event “How to Analyze Financial Statements: Tools, Techniques, and Insights”is to provide students with a foundational yet practical understanding of how to interpret and evaluate financial statements effectively. The session aims to enhance financial literacy and analytical skills among participants by introducing essential tools and techniques used in real-world financial analysis. This lecture is intended to prepare students for academic, professional, and entrepreneurial decision-making by building their confidence in understanding the financial health and performance of an organization.
Finance Club in collaboration with Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized a guest lecture on the topic “How to Analyze Financial Statements: Tools, Techniques, and Insights” aimed at enriching students’ understanding of corporate finance and business analysis.The session was conducted by an expert speaker CMA(Dr.) Amit kumar Arora, who provided a clear, step-by-step walkthrough of key financial statements — the Balance Sheet, Income Statement, and Cash Flow Statement. The lecture covered important topics such as ratio analysis, trend analysis, common-size statements, and the limitations of financial reporting. Real-world examples and case studies were used to demonstrate how these tools help evaluate a company’s profitability, liquidity, and solvency.
Students actively participated in the discussion and expressed great interest in applying the insights to internships, business simulations, and career planning. The lecture was a valuable contribution to bridging the gap between theoretical learning and practical financial decision-making.
