GitHub Galaxy: Deploying a website on Github

On October 9, 2024, IPEM hosted an exciting event called “GitHub Galaxy: Deploying a website on GitHub,” focusing on the practical application of web development skills. Organized by the Code Crafter Club, this hands-on workshop provided students with the opportunity to deploy their own websites using essential technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and MongoDB.
The event attracted enthusiastic participants eager to showcase their coding abilities and creativity. Throughout the session, students collaborated in teams and individually, applying their theoretical knowledge to real-world projects. As the competition unfolded, the atmosphere was charged with energy and excitement, encouraging students to push their limits and innovate. At the end of the day, three outstanding projects were recognized for their excellence:
1st Place: Kareena Khan (BCA, 5th Sem)
2nd Place (Tie): Chandra Prakash (BCA, 3rd Sem) and Group of Kanchan Mishra and Bhaskar (BCA, 3rd Sem)
3rd Place (Tie): Group of Khushi Kumari and C.S Abhita (BCA, 3rd Sem) and Group of Abhishek Pal and Nitin Shukla (BCA, 1st Sem)
These winners not only showcased their technical skills but also inspired their peers to aim for excellence in future coding endeavors.
The GitHub Galaxy event not only enriched the participants’ skill sets but also fostered a sense of community among aspiring web developers at IPEM. It was a celebration of creativity, collaboration, and technical prowess, marking a significant step forward in the students’ educational journey.
Outcome of the Event:
Students gained practical experience in web development, enhancing their skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, and MongoDB. By deploying live websites on GitHub, they boosted their confidence in website development, an essential career skill. The competition fostered a healthy competitive spirit, with winners Chirag Sharma, Rohit, and XYZ receiving recognition, motivating others to excel in future events.
