  • To discuss common difficulties new teachers face and share strategies to overcome them with confidence
  • To create an open platform for future teachers to ask questions and receive advice from an experienced school leader

CTE of IPEM organized an interactive and inspirational session Empowering Future Teachers: A Session with the Principal for B.Ed. & D.El.Ed. students on 25th February, 2025 (Tuesday). The session, Empowering Future Teachers, was an insightful and interactive event led by Mrs. Mohini Sampson, Principal of Ingraham English Medium School. The discussion focused on the evolving role of teachers, modern teaching techniques, and strategies to address diverse learning needs in classrooms.

Key Highlights of the Session

Mrs. Sampson engaged the audience with real-life teaching experiences, inspiring future teachers with her journey and practical examples from her career.

The discussion shed light on common learning challenges such as:

  • ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder)
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Borderline IQ
  • Anxiety in students

The session emphasized the use of modern technologies and tools to enhance teaching and learning, including:

  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) and ChatGPT in education

B.Ed. & D.El.Ed. Pupil-teachers were encouraged to continuously develop their skills, maintain a positive attitude, and remain motivated to improve student engagement and learning outcomes.

Mrs. Sampson discussed some of the significant challenges faced by teachers, including:

  • Classroom management strategies
  • Addressing the diverse needs of learners
  • The importance of ongoing teacher training

She shared the idea of using AI-driven personal coaches (suggested by Khan Academy) to cater to the needs of exceptional learners, ensuring personalized and effective learning support.

  1. Communication Difficulties at Secondary & Senior Secondary Levels

She also discussed the communication challenges (written and spoken) faced by students at higher levels of schooling and the underlying reasons, including cognitive and socio-emotional factors.

The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where pupil-teachers posed their queries. Mrs. Sampson patiently addressed their concerns, offering guidance on handling classroom challenges, career growth, and self-development as a teacher.
