Dr. B.S. Goyal Memorial Inter School Badminton Tournament 2024
The tournament’s primary objective was to provide students with a platform to demonstrate their athletic abilities, encourage physical fitness, and foster a spirit of healthy competition. The aim of the competition was to encourage sportsmanship, self-discipline, and healthy competition among the students.
IPEM College Ghaziabad successfully organized the two-day Dr. B.S. Goyal Memorial Inter-School Badminton Tournament 2024 on 9th and 10th November 2024 at Global Badminton School, Dasna, Ghaziabad. More than 250 students from various schools in Ghaziabad, Noida, Greater Noida, and Bulandshahar participated.
The badminton tournament was inaugurated by Shri Jitendra Yadav Ji, Ex-MLC, Ghaziabad, Rotarian Prashant Raj Sharma Ji, District Governor 2024-25, Rotarian Manjeet Sharma Ji, Rotary District, Shri Anupam Goyal, Secretary of IPEM Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, Dr. Sugandha Goyal, Executive Director of IPEM Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, Dr. Geeti Sharma, Director of IPEM Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, and Dr. Shashank Chaudhary, Dean Academics of IPEM Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad.
The competition included boys’ and girls’ singles and doubles categories, in which the students displayed excellent sports skills. Players in the sub-junior under-16 and junior under-19 categories participated with great sportsmanship.
In the sub-junior under-16 category, the winner in boys’ singles was Abhinandan Rawat from Indirapuram Public School, Ghaziabad, and in boys’ doubles were Dev Chaudhary from Shaheed Smarak Vidya Kendra, Ghaziabad, and Arnav Chaudhary from NIMT School, Ghaziabad. In the girls’ singles category, Bhavna Yadav from SKV Vivek Vihar, Delhi, and in the doubles category, Anandi Verma and Advika Barnwal from St. Xavier’s World School, Ghaziabad, took home the trophies.
In the under-19 category, the winner in boys’ singles was Abhinandan Rawat from Indirapuram Public School, Ghaziabad, and in boys’ doubles, the winners were Etaash Goyal and Rajneesh. In the girls’ singles category, Anshika Singh from DAV Ghaziabad, and in the doubles category, Bhavana Yadav from SKV Vivek Vihar and Anshika Singh from DAV Ghaziabad were the winners.
At the end of the competition, a prize distribution ceremony was organized, in which the winners were awarded cash prizes. The winners were honored with a cash prize of Rs. 5100, and the runners-up were honored with a cash prize of Rs. 3100, along with a Yonex badminton kit, certificate, and memento.
On both days, breakfast, lunch, and high tea were served to all participants, parents, and school representatives.
