Objective

1. The objective of the workshop is to raise awareness about corporate fraud.
2. Corporate fraud includes various illicit activities that impact organizations.
3. Types of fraud include financial statement fraud, asset misappropriation, bribery, corruption,
and cybercrime.
4. The landscape of fraud has evolved, becoming more complex and multifaceted.
5. Organizations across industries and geographies are affected by fraud.
6. Factors contributing to fraud include globalization, digital transformation, and increased
complexity of business operations.
7. There is a need for awareness to recognize new avenues for fraudulent behavior and
promote proactive measures.

Description

On October 5, 2024, IPEM College Ghaziabad, Finance Club, under the aegis of IQAC,
organized a workshop on the Landscape of Corporate Fraud. This initiative was designed to
bring awareness about corporate fraud. Corporate Fraud remains a persistent global challenge,
organizations that adapt through stronger governance, improved controls, and proactive fraud
detection strategies will be better positioned to mitigate risks in an increasingly complex and
interconnected global business environment.
The program has covered crucial aspects of corporate fraud, including Corporations increasingly
recognizing the need for robust internal controls, ethical corporate culture, and comprehensive
fraud risk management frameworks. The resource person for the workshop was Dr. Shefali
Saluja, expert in ethics and governance, Chitkara University (Chandigarh).
