Institutional Activity – Plantation of Peepal Tree
On July 5, 2021, the IPEM UG Campus hosted a Plantation Activity named “Plantation of Peepal Tree”. The purpose of this activity was to create awareness about the importance of trees and plants (Specially Peepal Trees) in our lives, how it increases the level of oxygen in the environment and improves air quality. One Peepal plant was planted by each one among 100 participants including Faculty and Students from all Departments (Management, IT and CTE). Faculty have done plantation in college campus while interested students have done plantation of Peepal tree in their neighboring areas and send their videos and photographs in college WhatsApp Groups. All of the participants took part enthusiastically.

- To increase the level of oxygen in the environment.

Conduct Methodology:
Swati Garg was assigned the responsibility to conduct the Plantation Activity. The Proposal was forwarded to the Management to get it approved. It was accepted on 3rd July 2021. The Plan of Action was prepared. The work on Plantation activity was started. As per the program schedule. Firstly, a message was sent to all WhatsApp Groups of the college. Dr. Nishi Sharma, Dr. Dolly Philips and Dr. Pooja Sharma(HOD’s of all the departments) along with faculty members done plantation on the college campus on the 5th of July while interested students have done plantation of Peepal trees in their neighboring areas and send their videos and photographs to us.
Outcomes and Objectives Achieved:
As a result of this activity
- Participants would be able to develop a better sense of the contribution of Peepal trees of providing oxygen, improving air quality, etc.
- Students understand that how Plantation helps to save society in an endangered situation like COVID 19.
Observations and Shortcomings:
It was ensured that the Covid preventive measures should be followed due to which participants send their plantation videos and photographs instead of coming to the college.
